Tyndrum Hills

Ah the Tyndrum hills well what can I say about them...  Well to be honest with you the first thing that springs to mind is the Green Welly Stop.  What a place!  Ok now onto the hills, without a doubt the most impressive hill is Ben Lui ( posh name is Beinn Laoigh).  It is another central highland beast and the pointy ness ( what a word ) of it gives it true alpine features.  These hills are another batch of those hills that " seem to be seen from every other  hill " which is true but that's not a bad thing.  These hills can be accessed in two ways.  You can use Glen Falloch which is the route you use for the Crianlarich Hills or you can tackle them from the River Cononish straight off the A85 this is my preferred route as this is where you get the best views of Ben Lui  the other two hills in the area are Ben Oss and Beinn Dubhchraig are just across the valley from Lui and Beinn a' Chleibh and make a brilliant aerial photo ( if you have Cameron McNeish's The Munros book you will see what I mean) however they can never match up to the stature of Lui.  Ok enough about the hills back onto the Green Welly Stop its such a good place there's an outdoor shop for all your hill walking needs a brilliant restaurant with hefty portions, excellent! and they don't care how manky you are when you come off the hills ( I can testify for that! ).  Only four Munros here but offer a challenging climb. The logo of the Green Welly Stop
