Whats a Munro?  summit of An Caisteal - Crianlarich Hills

A Munro is a Scottish mountain above 3000ft, 284 in total throughout the country.  A popular game among walkers is "Munro Bagging" i.e. climbing them all.  Scotland has great hill walking no matter what the height of the hill and boasts some of the finest surroundings in Europe.  The Munros are special though and attract people from throughout the world so that they can "tick off" a mountain in a book (strangely compelling !)  The current list of "Munroists" stands at over 3000, I  shall add my name to it one day!
