Cruachan HillsThe Cruachan hills are another small batch of hills just west of the Tyndrum hills and offer some good climbs. Right at the head of Loch Awe, the longest loch in Scotland sits Ben Cruachan which makes one of the best climbs you can do in my opinion. This walk involves another Hydroelectric Power station and another very impressive dam with the guts of the operation actually hollowed out in Cruachan itself a brilliant tour is available and defiantly recommend. The Cruachan horseshow should satisfy all Munro bagger's taking you along a ridge over several tops none of which are below 900m. The other two hills in the area are Beinn a' Chochuill and Beinn Eunaich but are dwarfed and outclassed by the Cruachan horseshoe. The easiest way to get here without driving is to get off at Dalmally on the Oban train route and walk or hitch a ride to the start of the route. Good views can be seen here of the Glencoe hills and Ben Lui is always a pleasure to see. Munros in Cruachan area:Ben Cruachan Stob Diamh Beinn a' Chochuill Beinn Eunaich
