"The Monday Night Wargames Group Newsletter"

April - issue II

The March club night was a success, to certain degree. We may have found a set of Napoleonic rules that work well and most of us like. They are called DBN and cost around £5.00. A DBN scenario booklet is also available at £5.00, as is the DBA System rules.

The above "to a certain degree", refers to the running out of time. I’ve given this some thought and have come up with a few suggestions;

1. Start at 6-6.30pm.

2. Put aside 10-15 minutes at the START of the evening to discuss things like our next game, new ideas for the rules or organise trips for weekend games shows.

3. Workout beforehand the armies we’ll be bringing, collect our own armies [not to expensive with the 6-10mm DBX Systems] and buy or copy a set of the rules to read.

Roy & I worked out a DBN army would cost around £150.00, based & painted in 6mm [depending on the size of your units] - Available at the moment are; British & Allied, French, French Guard and Prussian. [possibly Austrian?]

Points of order;

1. A list of each others addresses and phone numbers. [leave them with me and I’ll print out a club contacts sheet, for our use only] – STILL…….

2. Decide;

A; What game we’re doing the next time we meet. [May 1st]

B; What display game to do at the museum this year and who’s doing what.

[Quatre Bras? – any other thoughts?]
