GillRees is able to provide a wide range of services to clients, working in partnership with them to tailor effective local solutions rather than ‘a one size fits all’ approach.

At the same time we are sufficiently independent to be a ‘critical friend’ and offer independent advice.

We have extensive experience in running recruitment for clients, project managing their existing processes and recommending process changes. 

We are able to be involved with all aspects of the recruitment process at all levels for barristers' chambers including senior management appointments, senior clerks, clerks and support staff, including IT and costs.  This would entail:

  • The development of the Job Description/Person Specifications
  • Advertised selection and headhunting
  • Handling and reviewing responses 
  • Long listing and short listing applicants
  • Agreeing the final interviewing procedure.  Included would be advice on ensuring that the final interview process covers all the areas the client requests.  We are able to extend this and carry out further assessments for clients including psychometric assessment and work related assessment.  These are particularly useful where clients require certain behaviours, attitudes and predispositions from the successful candidate.

 

  • We are able to organise and provide training and development of staff to meet the needs of the organization and the individual’s aspirations.
  • We have the expertise to work in a confidential way with individual staff identifying their personal and organisational needs.

  • We are able to provide a range of coaching and mentoring services for clients to help them improve organisational effectiveness and personal performance.
  • We provide coaching and support to individuals at senior and middle management level within organizations for interview preparation. This could include support for members of chambers in applications for QC or judicial roles.

 

  • At times of strategic change, such as during mergers or acquisitions, we are able to provide a range of change management services to support clients. 
  • This service includes scoping change, agreeing preferred options, project management, dealing with complex HR issues and effective communications.
