Intro

Lots of programs contain spyware. This is 3rd party software (programs downloaded with the original without your consent.)

The worst offenders these days seem to be p2p file sharing applications

When you install kazaa etc.it adds lots of other programs without you knowing. They point out that they tell you about them in the E.U.L.A.(end user licence agreement) but 9 out of ten people don't read this. HOW MANY TIMES HAVE YOU JUST CLICKED "I AGREE"

Remedy???

Unfortunately p2p programs are usually the first thing new PC users download

It took me 6 hours to remove kazaa and other spy ware from my system.

It `s not my place to tell you what to do or think, I just hope some people can learn from my mistakes.

Cool web search.(browser hijacker)

CWShredder

The new updated version of the shredder.
Always check you have the latest version.

A 'browser hijack' is when your homepage changes for no reason ,usually to a porn or search site.
spybot usually picks these up,but there is a strain that updates itself faster than spybot can.
This one is called the 'cool web search' and seems to be giving people a lot of problems recently.There is a tool to shift it.
