KELSO, Roxburghshire, Scotland

I have, at last, been able to trace my great great grandfather, Frederick Turner, on the 1851 Coldstream Census. He was not born in Penicuik, Midlothianshire, as I had supposed on the evidence from Scottish Origins but in Kelso Roxburghshire. Therefore, the house of cards I had constructed linking Frederick back to Duncan Turner and Isabel Munro has collapsed. Here is Frederick's true ancestry.

Ann

Frederick's mother, was born around 1794 in Kelso, Roxburghshire. She seems to have been a widow in 1851. She was living with Fredrick and his family in Coldstream at the time of the 1851 Census and was listed as blind.

Ann Turner

Frederick's older sister, was born around 1819 in Kelso, Roxburghshire. At the time of the 1851 Census, she was also living with Frederick and his family. She was a widow, married name Cahill.
