Lesbury, Northumberland, England

(Page edited 20th October, 1999)

John Walker was born at Bilton Mill, Lesbury but moved to Seahouses where he was a fisherman. John and his wife Phillis Fender lived at Monkshouse, near Bamburgh and their children were baptised at Bamburgh Parish Church. I have found several of their descendants living in Seahouses - a small fishing village a few miles south of Bamburgh, Northumberland. John Walker is referred to as being a native of Lesbury in the baptismal records of his children. Bilton Mill was a fulling mill. More details will be found on the Lesbury page. My sister, Liz Skelton, has done a considerable amount of research and I hope to add further details at a future date.
