Who Am I?

L Plate I am a self employed driving instructor working alone. I have been working as an instructor for about 8 years.
I have a very simple method of teaching which is a no BS or smoke blowing approach. If you do well you will know it, if you don't do so good you will know that too. Which is why I won't spend 10 minutes at the end of the lesson telling you that, we spend that time driving.I do not waste time each lesson lecturing whilst parked up, the only way to learn is to practice until you get it right.
If you are looking for a cheap hourly rate ring someone else. But if you are looking to learn to drive without having your time wasted then give me a call. I take pride in what I do and am not doing this job just because I have seen the "earn 30K a year" advert on the tv as most people seem to be doing now.
I am based in and around Dewsbury, but also teach people in the following surrounding areas:
Batley, Birstall, Cleckheaton, Heckmondwike, Liversedge, Ravensthorpe, Thornhill, Ossett and within.

My Success Rate

L Plate

It is widely known that the pass rates locally are very low. However, since becoming an instructor, I have enjoyed a large amount of success with the local test centres, giving me a pass rate which is much higher than the press would suggest is possible. In recent times I have had some very good pass rates, ie. out of 16 tests taken over a period of 3 months, 13 people passed, 11 of them being 1st time passes. However, this is not possible without the hard work and commitment of the people taking the tests.

I am not a miracle worker, I am only a human being with 17 years experience of driving and riding on public roads, which gives me a lot of knowledge to pass on to you. I can teach you as fast as you can learn, but I cannot wave a wand and teach you to drive in a week or a month if you don't put the effort in. Learning to drive is like learning to write, it's the co-ordination of your hands, eyes and brain, with the added extra of also using your feet, but if you are committed we can work together to achieve your goals.

How Much Will It Cost To Learn

thumbs downOne large company offers the 1st 5 lessons for £56. One of them is free, but included in the price, so you only get 4 lessons for £56. I can be reasonably sure, that most of those lessons will be spent without you driving very far at all. Not me, I only park up if I have to.
The branded companies can give the impression of having vastly experienced instructors, thats not necessarily true. When a newly qualified instructor completes their training and has no experience, YOU still get to pay full price, while they take longer to teach you due of their lack of experience and ability. Not to mention that all of the above have huge fees to pay to their respective companies for their franchise, so how do they get it back? by stringing out your tuition and costing you money. Not me, I am the only person and have been qualified for 8 years.
Also be aware that any trainee driving instructor who has passed their part 2 ADI test can apply for a provisional licence and teach you for payment. Some of which don't ever manage to qualify as an instructor. These people are unable to give you what you are paying for, as they have been proven by government testing incapable of reaching the required skill level. The branded firms can also use these people as instructors.
What about me? As of November 08, I have only half the pupils I had this time last year. Due to the current financial climate my phone hasn't been ringing as much as usual, but my pupils have still been taking, and passing their tests. Just because I am struggling I can't justify not letting things run their course. So to try and gain your business and get busy again, for a limited time only I am offering your first whole month at discounted rates:

£15 per hour lesson. That means that if you have one lesson per week for the whole month you save £28, but if you have more lessons you will save more. On the whole if you could fit 20 lessons in the month then you could save £140.

Or you could pay the normal rate of £22 and recieve an extra half hour free each lesson. Thats a 90 minute lesson for the price of 60 minutes. which again if you had 20 lessons could save you the price of 10 hours, £220.

The savings are yours to take, the more lessons you have the more you save. If you can find a better offer then well done, but I think that you will find this offer hard to beat.

thumbs upIf your still not convinced and you find that you are struggling to pick an instructor go for a single, self employed instructor like me with 5 or more years teaching. We care more and make more effort to please you. Unlike larger companies who have their good and bad employees, I am my reputation, so I have maintain it by working harder to achieve your goal and hopefully be recommended to you friends and family.
Don't waste time on pass rates beacause people can easily lie, as their is no way to prove it.
Ask about their grade. 5 or 6 is good, 1 to 4 don't waste your time.
I have tried to be as honest as I can, which I hope will show you that I am as straight talking as I said at the begining.
