Welcome!
This site was set up in July 2005 to serve as a permanent
showcase for some of my colourised images.
I originally began to colourise monochrome stills after
seeing the outstanding work of Stuart Humphryes on the ‘Doctor Who’ fansite Outpost Gallifrey.
Stuart’s Photo Colourisation thread on the site’s message
boards inspired myself and others to have a go and after finding that
I could achieve reasonably impressive results it became a
regular hobby.
The intention is for this site to eventually include colourisations from various monochrome films and television programmes,
and possibly other historical images, but for now it will
display a number of my Doctor Who colourisations.
The Fade To Colour website is run by David P May.

As an example of my colourising skills, here is a shot before…

…and after…

Please be aware that the images that appear on this site
are copyrighted and therefore restrictions to their use apply.
The colour information in them is my work and I must insist
that my permission is sought before using them in any way.
With special thanks to Stuart "Babel Fish"
Humphryes, Michael Blumenthal,
KKDW,
Jim Trenowden
and all the others who encouraged my efforts on Outpost
Gallifrey.

By “Day Of The Daleks” in 1972, Doctor Who was being made in colour. However, many of the publicity shots, such as this one, were still in black and white. Playing the Doctor is Jon Pertwee. Katy Manning plays his worried-looking assistant Jo Grant.
