The Regional Women’s Committees have been set up to actively campaign for the equality of women within the CWU, in the Labour movement, at work and in society. The Committees aims are to encourage women in a supportive environment, into getting more involved in their union. The Committee also works closely with the National Women’s Advisory Committee.

Our meetings are informal and we discuss such things as;

Ø     Women in the CWU

Ø     Abortion Rights

Ø     Women’s Labour History

Ø     Women’s Health

Ø     Traffiking and Prostitution

Ø     Training and Education

Ø     Women in Public Life

The Committee meets roughly quarterly, usually in Birmingham and each Branch can send any women who are interested along.  If you would like to attend , give your Branch Secretary a ring, alternatively call Vicki or Vera.
