The Gîte

The gîte is a three-storey 19th century village house that has recently been extensively renovated and includes room for up to eight to sleep, a living room, kitchen/dining room, three bathrooms and toilets and a roof terrace. The house is situated in a cul-de-sac (no traffic) just a few metres from the village centre. There are several shops within a very short walking distance selling groceries of all kinds, including fresh fruit and vegetables, and there is a nearby baker's.

Ground floor

Entering by the front door you come to the kitchen/dining room ("rez de chaussée") which contains an electric oven with a gas hob, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave and fridge-freezer, kitchen units and a dining table and chairs. At the back of the house is the living room ("sejour") with a settee, bed settee, armchair, coffee table and television with DVD player. Sliding glass doors (with outer folding doors) open out onto a narrow lane. Adjacent to the living room is a bathroom with shower, washbasin and toilet which is particularly useful for any guests who have difficulty with the stairs. Wheelchair acces is facilitated by the sliding doors at the rear.

First floor

Climbing the traditional stairs to the first floor you enter a room wihich can be used as a bedroom or living area, equipped with a comfortable double bed settee and storage areas. Adjacent to this room is another bathroom, equipped with toilet, shower and washbasin. At the back of the house is a bedroom with an old traditional French double bed.

Top floor

Climbing the stairs to the top floor takes you into large airy bedroom with a double bed under the sloping roof. A bathroom separates the front bedroom from a bedroom adjacent to the terrace with two single beds. Passing through the back bedroom you come onto the terrace with a view of the traditional pan-tiled village roofs and the Montagne Alaric in the distance - great for taking the sun or relaxing in the cool of the evening. The spring and summer bring the swallows and house-martins in large number swooping and diving overhead as they catch insects. And you can't beat gazing at the bright stars in the clear mediterranean sky!
