FC Torres 1 - AFC Sydney 8

Maybe this was a predicatable result. It wasn't ten, so there's some comfort.

Neil elected to play uphill first half, in the hope that if we tired in the second it may be easier to defend but after a frantic start defensively, Sydney soon scored. The first half hour saw us camped in our own half and led to two further goals.

As the pace slowed towards the end of the half we found a spell of pressure that gave Big Chris a chance to emulate Klinsmann and a trade mark penalty was dispatched.

A rallying team talk left us feeling that there was something to play for but two swift, hard kicks to the nads immediately from the restart left us reeling and a damage limitation exercise was the only thing to play for. As I said, at least they didn't make ten.

Sydney obviously have quality players including a strong centreback, the left footed central midfield player who turned quickly and spread quality passes and Adam, their young nimble footed right-winger. It amazes me that, although five or six goals ahead, some players act complete twats after being on the receiving end of challenges that they themselves have been putting in all game. I also believe that nine out of eleven AFC Sydney players would agree with this comment. We are not a particular big team and I wonder if these players would react the same way when confronted with a team of six foot plus giants.

Anyway, rant over and Hickey Cup here we come.

No photos this week. I must have known it was going to be a masacre.
