Cheam Rangers Reserves 2 v FC Torres 2

Watching this game must have been like watching a load of old women whose language was even dirtier than their underwear. When the referee makes a decision, that's it. Referees cannot be right every time, the Premiership refs make wrong decisions so you have to accept that. How can players at our level expect the best ref when they themselves are so crap they can only play in division ten out of eleven of a Sunday football league.

This game was abandoned because of the ridiculous amount of abuse the referee had to endure. He did make errors and tried to stamp his authority by applying the rules to the letter. May be this was too little too late, but the levels of abuse was more than anyone should take.

So to the match itself.

The pitch was as flat as Pamela Andersons chest and as small as what is left of Wayne Bobbit's Bobbit. The play matched the league positions of the teams which is second and third from bottom. Both teams needed a win but neither convinced enough to take it.

Cheam opened the scoring after we failed to clear in the six yard box. Christian replied immediately after a good passing move. Our returning captain then mis-timed a clearance and the remaining defenders stood motionless as Rangers ran on to make 2-1.

A foul that was harshly adjudged to be outside the area was awarded to Rangers. Suprisingly this was hardly questioned. Anyway the resulting free-kick was saved well.

The second half saw both teams have a few chances. We hit the bar then were awarded a penalty after a late challenge on young Glen. Dan cooly slotted home.

Things started to turn sour from here. A booking for going off the pitch for water (apparently our secretary should have told us this seasons clamp-down is for leaving the pitch without permission) and words from the ref for foul and abusive language left Rangers with ten men.

After calling the captains together for another chat the Ref then received a further volley of abuse so rightfully decided to call it a day.

There may well be repercusions from this so we will await the leagues decision.
