Welcome to the Romiley Arts Federation World Wide Web Presence

'Works of art', allegedly worth thousands of pounds, chucked out by cleaners; 'paintings' by elephants and chimps; cardboard boxes insinuated into Tate Modern. No wonder people are asking, "What is art?" Well, if it shows craftsmanship and, optionally, originality; if it has visual complexity and/or directness and clarity; and if it doesn't look like something which anyone at all could have knocked out in half an hour, then it's probably art. And if it looks like a job for the cleaning staff or the dustmen, then it definitely ain't art! ..... Grand Art Revue, 2002/08 |

Introduction
Romiley Arts Federation is a broadly-based group of people with all manner of artistic leanings. About the only other thing that they have in common is that they live in and around Romiley village, which is still in Cheshire, according to the postal address.
This front page provides a gateway to the outpourings of RAF members and things that have been said about their work. RAF as a whole takes no responsibility for the views of its members but it does stand by their right to express their opinions - no matter how misguided, or even weird, they may be.
The only requirements for the members are to be creative and to be interesting. And not to spend too much time messing about on the Internet instead of getting on with their work!
RAF also acknowledges contributions to the design of this website from members of the more tightly focussed Romiley Literary Circle.
