Strawberry

Microwave Jam or Preserves

All fruit photographs, except the Peach and Seville Oranges, were taken in our own garden during the 2004 fruit season, before the fruit was picked. These have been included to provide positive identification of the fruits used in making Jam, showing the fruit growing in its natural state. There are probably many similar fruits with different names and varieties around the world, but all these recipies are designed for the traditional English soft summer fruits.

Jam is the traditional English name used for mixtures of fruit and sugar that have been cooked until they become set or jelly like. The alternative name, often used on commercial products, is Preserves. The traditional English name of Jam will be used here.
