Staff Development Experience
I have particular experience and interest in issues of teaching, learning
and assessment and accreditation, supervising PhD students and contract researchers,
resource based learning and curriculum change.
Key responsibilities have included :-
• the role of Course Leader for the University mandatory ILT/SEDA accredited Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice at The University of Nottingham.
• designing and running a wide range of staff development workshops for the University of Nottingham and the regional M1/M69 staff development network
• internal staff development consultancy with individual offices or departments through the Staff Development Fund.
• successful tendering for 'Career review' workshop design & delivery for the MRC
• involvement in national project teams, e.g. Resource based learning (Graham Gibbs, HEFCE, Supporting contract researchers (UCoSDA/HESDA), Post-graduate supervisor’s accrediation (BBSRC and SEDA)
• presenting at conference (9) and publishing articles and reviews (27)
• acting as a mentor for the SEDA Fellowship in the UK and Singapore
