Here is a collection of links. Each of these links are to web sites we have used, either for business or personally and can recommend. Some of the sites such as eMusic and www.Ancestry.co.uk are offering decent free trial subscriptions and are well worth taking up, others we have found very useful or just fun! We hope they are of as much use to you, or at least provide you with some enjoyment.

Kelkoo is a shopping search engine that compares products from over 5000 online retailers. We have recently started using it quite a lot and have saved ourselves money. All the online stores are rated by users so you can check them out before buying.

Free iPod and great audio downloads from Audible At the moment this Audible is offering a free iPod. I liked the site and quickly a number of books I wanted. The only problem is that PC users require Windows XP/2000. As far as I am aware there is no problem for Mac users.

LOVEFiLM are offering 6 FREE DVD rentals, worth £20. We have tried their previous offer and were very impressed with the speed of service and the variety of DVDs on offer. We managed to catch most of the first series of Desperate Housewives before our free trial was over.

null eMusic is offering a free trial subscription which allows you to download 25 mp3 tracks which are yours to keep whether you go on to pay for a subscription or not! They specialise in independent record labels and so you won't find many mainstream artists. So if you are into indie music it's well worth checking out. I managed to find all sorts of music I liked, both artists from my youth and some new artists I had never heard before.

We have been with NTL now since we moved to Scunthorpe and get our broadband , digital TV and telephone through them. As our needs have changed, or as special offers come up, we have found it easy to swap our packages around with the minimum of fuss. On the whole we have been very pleased with the service.

Potentials 120x60 My wife has recently got into trying to trace her family tree (see her blog here). So far she has discovered a previously unknown relative in South Africa who has also been tracing his family tree. One useful sites we found was www.Ancestry.co.uk. If you are interested in tracing your ancestors they have a 14 Day FREE trial.

This is a site I bought a few books from and I have been very impressed with their service. They send out emails at each stage of teh process so you know what is happening with your order.

This is a site I signed up with a little while ago. If you buy something from one of their associated retailers you get cash back. They also give a welcome bonus of £2.50 when you sign up. I quite like this site as they give cash rather than points and my total is going up slowly but steadily.

Abebooks The Advanced Book Exchange is one of the best sources for secondhand, collectable and antiquarian books. They have over 9000 independent booksellers from around the world signed up with them.

Click here to buy & sell on eBay! We use ebay.co.uk as one of the main outlets for our secondhand books. Both buying and selling is easy and there are some real bargains to be found. The forums are a very useful resource if you are just getting started and there are lots of helpful and expereinced eBay users who can give you advice.

If you regularly participate in online auctions, whether you are a buyer or a seller, Auction Tamer is an excellent tool to help you manage. We have written a more detailed review in our featured book section (OK it's not a book).

The thought of registering your own domain name can be scary, (ok it scared us) but with 123reg.co.uk the process was easy and well laid out. They provide web and email forwarding as well as web hosting and the prices are reasonable. If you would like to try having your own domain name we can recommend 123reg.co.uk.

If you have got a website then it's worth your while signing up with an affiliate scheme and making some money from your site. There are lots around but one of the ones we use is AffiliateFuture. We have only just signed up with them so I cannot tell you what they are like yet.

Something of a fun site. If you register you can play online games including card, arcade and puzzle games and slot machines. Some of the games are multiplayer while others are for single players. The idea is to collect points and then use those points to buy tickets into a weekly online draw. You can collect a decent amount of points for free on a daily basis and some games reward you but don't cost any points to participate. The prizes are not hugh but then again the site is free and, if like me, you enjoy having a flutter but hate parting with actual money, then this is the site for you!
