First, apologies that this is not a book but rather some software, however, we felt it was such a good thing that we wanted to share it! We began using eBay to auction our books on a regular basis using Mister Lister, eBay's free bulk listing tool. However, we quickly discovered that it was difficult to manage the large number of auctions we were posting. We downloaded a couple of alternatives but they were either too complex or didn't do the job.
Auction Tamer solved most of our problems. There is a bulk uploader with customizable templates for various auction sites. Once posted we can monitor our auctions and, when they are finished, we can send an automatic email to the winner (there is also an option to email the losers) advising them of the total cost, keep a record of when items have been paid for and print out the labels. It also simplifies leaving feedback. For people who buy but not sell on auctions there is a search facility that spans multiple auction sites, a sniping tool and once again auctions are monitored. We tried it for two days and paid for a years subscription rather than wait for the end of the trial period.
