We feel that it is appropriate to start this section with one of the books that influenced our setting up of a second hand bookshop. Although some of the information is only accurate for the American market, (for example, how to recognise a first edition), on the whole it is a useful guide to collecting and selling second hand books. One of the most useful parts is an index of the 1,001 "most collectable" books and authors.
