Story Title
Dorothy Patricia WEST was born 8th June 1913
I don't know much about my mothers childhood as she never talked about it much. She used to tell me that she came from the nobility and that her surname was HAMILTON-WEST but at the moment we can find no trace.
All I realy know is that she lived in London where she met Mr William Henry WILSON my step father. And that they went to Norfolk after they got married. My half sister Barbara Violet was born not long after this in 1935.
Dorothy made friends with a few of the villagers and a young man used to come and do the garden and the three of them became friends. She also became friends with a couple opposite John & Mary Tripp. Mary was the local midwife.
My mother became very freindly with the young man who came to do the garden and in the end they started an affair with the blessing of Mr.Wilson and the three of them had an aggrement that if any children were born Mr Wilson could claim any boys and James CULLEN the girls. James and Dorothy had 2 children myself Evie Mary born 1941 and Victor John Malcolm born 1943.
My mother woke us up one night when I was about 7 and put us on a train we went to london I wanted my daddy.
I know that my mother was running away from somthing in her past before Mr Wilson one day I hope to find out about her childhood and who my grandparents were
My mother moved after she put my brother and me into the childrens home. She went to live in a big house and became the houskeeper and cook for Mrs Blundell and her daughter Betty. Johnny and I used to go there for some of our holidays from the home. It was a realy large house with servants rooms which were never used as my mother was the only live in staff. There was a lady that came in 2/3 times a week to help with the heavy work we called her Bubbles I never did find out why she was called that. There was 1 gardener Reg and a chaufer Baz (pronounced baise)
Dorothy died age 65 years in Hillington March 1978 (Death cetifcate ordered 13th March 2004)
