A selection of some of my photographs.
Click on the images to see a larger version (low-res still though for
the web). All the photos look great at A4, and most will go bigger
and still look really good (and of course printed without the large
copyright symbol!).
Kaua'i SunriseOlympus mju mini digital, 4MP, ISO 64, F/10, 1/80 sec, 36mm equiv. focal length Looking out Eastwards towards America from the oldest of the Hawaiian islands, Kaua'i. This sunrise was about the only one that made a good photograph - it rained the rest of the week. |

Once a TreeOlympus mju mini digital, 4MP, ISO 64, F/10, 1/100 sec, 36mm equiv. focal length A shot taken on the island of Kauai'i, Hawai'i. The old gnarled stump is a good contrast to the grey skies and water. The wet-look of the stump was due to the rain, not the sea. |

Nuts About BeachesOlympus mju mini digital, 4MP, ISO 64, F/10, 1/160 sec, 36mm equiv. focal length The coconut was washed up on the beach in Kauai'i, Hawai'i. Luckily I had the forethought not to walk up to the coconut before I took the picture so I had fresh sand in the shot without footprints. |

IcelandOlympus mju mini digital, 4MP, ISO 64, F/3.5, 1/320 sec, 36mm equiv. focal length I was rather taken with the black sand on the beach in Rejkyavik, Iceland. It was September and as cold as it looked. |

Bearded IrisFuji F10 Zoom, 3.1MP, ISO 80, F/2.8, 1/400 sec, 36mm equiv. focal length Portrait of a bearded Iris. The flower has a fabulous structure and superb colours. |

Afraid NotOlympus mju mini digital, 4MP, ISO 64, F/3.5, 1/100 sec, 36mm equiv. focal length Another picture on the beach in Rejkyavik, Iceland. I could not help thinking of the question "Will I ever find out what is on the other end of the rope?", hence the title. |

Just LandedOlympus mju mini digital, 4MP original, ISO 64, F/4.9, 1/1000 sec, 72mm equiv. focal length This is quite a tight crop from a larger image shot down the river in Vancouver, Canada. The plane had just landed and was taxing across the river. I liked the way the posts and barrels were in the water, but I took the picture quickly to catch the aircraft. Only later did I notice the cormorant drying itself in the centre of the shot. |
