There are six main characters in That Pig, Morin!
- ALPHONSE LABARBE, editor and man about town. His eye for the ladies is matched only by their eyes for him…
- HENRIETTE BONNEL, unfortunate victim of the draper Morin’s advances. Young, beautiful, innocent, etc, etc…
- MORIN, draper of La Rochelle. Behind his snivelling demeanour he has a good head for business if only he wouldn’t lose it by chasing after pretty girls!
- RIVET, Labarbe’s colleague and the only man he considers an equal (socially, at any rate). Do his sarcasm and cynicism hide a softer side? Probably not.
- Henriette’s AUNT. She’s out to prove there’s life in the old girl yet, as Monsieur Rivet will learn to his cost.
- Morin’s WIFE. Sharp-tongued termagant with a hopeless crush on Labarbe.
