Are you communicating your ideas effectively?
It’s hard work writing an essay or thesis. You want to be sure you get the maximum grade and do yourself justice. A simple way to do this is to get someone else to read through it and offer advice on spelling, grammar and style. Perhaps your English is good, but you can’t face re-reading your thesis (that you have already slaved over for hours!) in order to check for spelling mistakes. It can be difficult to gain perspective on something you have written, and it could help to have another person’s point of view to ensure you are saying what you want in the clearest way possible. In these situations and more, I can help.
I have a 2:1 honours degree in Psychology and a qualification in proofreading, as well as experience in proofreading and copy editing theses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. I have a strong background in sciences and social sciences, and experience in proofreading other academic fields.
I work from home, and texts are usually emailed to me for editing and proofreading, meaning turnaround times can be kept to a minimum. I can either simply proofread your text – just checking for typing errors and simple grammatical mistakes - or proofread and copy edit, which entails ensuring the text reads well and is easily understandable.
To find out if I can help by proofreading or copy editing your work, or to discuss rates (discounts may be available under certain circumstances for long theses) please contact me.
