What is Klang's Entourage?

Klang's Entourage is a voluntary (dis)organisation to celebrate Norwich's dragon traditions through performance, participation and procession, sometimes in partnership with other groups.

(Having fallen into the alliteration pit, let's see if we can avoid the bad jokes quicksand...)

The Entourage is a growing group of people comprising Klang's engineer, a couple of Margarets and others with various skills in dance, costume, humour, magic, skating and music among other things, which we happily combine in a manner to suit the occasion, depending on who is available at the time. It seems to work so far.

The Mighty Klang is available for processions, fetes, carnivals, junkets, galas, wayzgooses and opening supermarkets (though be warned, he might have a few things to say about overpackaging).

We also offer short presentations on the dragons of Norwich as well as sharing our skills in creative workshops, particularly involving the use of scrap materials.

There's room for more members, so you think you might like to join the Entourage, see the membership page.

We aim to be inclusive in all our events as well as in our membership.

If the activities which Klang's Entourage can offer are of use to your organisation, please contact us.

Who's who

As well as Klang, we have two other dragons in the team. Although taken in by us as an orphan, Nipper is in fact a film star. He is to be seen (briefly) at the top of the stairs in Notting Hill when Hugh Grant shows Julia Roberts up to the bedroom...

Claude is an immigrant from the USA, and he's really 'ard. You can tell that from the photo.

Besides Klang and Margaret, other characters you may see are Dick Fool (with the green hair and the red & yellow tabard), the Mayor (our version anyway) and St Audrey, who has no precedent in Norwich tradition as far as we are aware, but her story is well worth exploring. And this year being the Norfolk Hero's bicentenary, it wouldn't be surprising if Admiral Lord Nelson made the occasional appearance too.
