First Pictures of Ian's Lynx Gig. London 6.7.01

The band played the whole of the new album...
They were due on stage at 10pm, all drinks were free all night so they wanted to get their set in before everyone was too pissed.
Dave, Inder & Mark came on stage (Si Wolstenholme was there but didn't play) to the sound of "Hear No See No" being played through the PA. "FEAR" began and Ian bounced onstage wearing a light coloured suit and black vest. " Do you like the suit, do I look like I'm going to a wedding" were his first words. Suit jacket came off after 1st track. A couple of the songs seemed to get a bit jumbled but it appears that the sound was bouncing back off a wall below the bar which was about 25m from the stage, so the band couldn't hear what each other were playing.
There was more of a club atmosphere in the room than a gig one, Sister Bliss was on the decks up to show time and everybody was dancing to her rather than leaning on the rails at the front of the room. As soon as "Hear No See No" was played Ians fans pushed forward whilst the rest of the crowd moved towards the stage without creating much of a crush. All the songs were well received considering that not many people had heard them before but it was only the final song "My Star" that had the crowd bouncing. Midway through the set a black lacy thong landed at Ians feet. He casually looked at it, walked round behind Inder and picked up a drumstick which he used to lift the item off the floor. He then walked round the band offering them the pants while they were trying to play a song. Between songs Ian performed a few martial arts poses and a pretty poor levitation illusion, as well as indulging in a spot of drumstick twirling.
All in all a good gig, marred only by the sound quality of the room.
