De - I.C.E. ing !

At last, it was time to get rid of the smelly old infernal combustion engine...
...so out it comes!

 
lifting the engine out out she comes! loads of room!

To help with measuring up for making the mountings and motor cradle, I put the gearbox into place using some blocks
of wood and bits of angle iron, and lowered the motor in on top. There's more space than I thought.... great !
Lots of room for the Curtis controller, cooling fan(s) and reversing contactors
( which I'll need since the truck's now direct drive )

 
  Below you can see the motor, in position. In the left-hand shot, it's all been painted, and what's more, IT RUNS!
