"Hedera" joined us on 27th September 2007, from Filipe Resende and Mira de Matos in Portugal.

We fell in love with him at the end of 2006 - and met him "in the fur" in May 2007 (on Firoza's birthday!)

As you may have read on Lily's page, we firstly wanted a white boy.

Na'il was drawn to the breed by a white NFC, and we have always loved the idea of breeding whites too.

Now, four years later - he has his hearts' desire, our gorgeous blue-eyed boy :-)

What a coincidence that our second stud would have a name meaning the same as our first ~

in Greek Mythology, a 10 year war was fought in the city Troy, also known as Ilion and Ilios :-) 

Almost as if he was destined to be ours (...a romantic thought!)

Hedera has changed so much physically since he came to the UK; he has grown no-end and is even more gorgeous now! :-)

He loves to be in the cat garden, although he was unsure to begin with - now he loves to run around as fast as he can!!

He is such a loving boy, he could cuddle and kiss you all day long!

...and he talks and talks in "Portuguese Cat" (he is still learning English, lol)

The combinations with Cezanne, Alexi, Ini and So'tis have produced beautiful kittens - with fantastic temperaments and personalities (to see photo's - use links through queen's individual pages)

Hedera became unwell in February 2012, and having lost weight the vet ran a multitude of tests (bloods, scans etc) ~ all of which showed nothing apart from him being anaemic.

He was happy enough in himself, and was on a course of antibiotics for FIA (Feline Infectious Anaemia) ~ although it had not been found in his blood test (and is very difficult to trace) ~ his symptoms suggested this was the cause of his anaemia.

 On the morning of Sunday 25th March 2012, Hedera came out of his cat house to lay out in the sunshine ~ where went to sleep and never woke up :'(

Following post mortem and further tests (including biopsies) which showed nothing either ~ the final results from the laboratory came back at the end of April saying that the cause of his death is inconclusive.

We have no reason to believe it is genetic or hereditary.

Needless to say, we are devastated; and miss our boy dearly :'(
