The problem with Astronomy today is both amateurs and the press seem to print only beautiful images.

True most of them involve many hours of painstaking capturing and even longer at the PC processing them to look even more stunning. This is fine until you see the price tag attached with today's equipment.

Most of the best imagers have today's best equipment and the shots we all 'Wow' at would set you back several thousands of pounds.

There are allot of people giving advice on the web and societies that assume you are going to have all the state of the art equipment. Some amateurs even have an elitist attitude towards equipment and image processing.

Thankfully in my time I have met many people who are the opposite to the above and still great imagers , But be warned  elitists exist and are growing.

I have set up a page dedicated to my budget project to help anyone wishing to do Hi Res solar system imaging without having to stretch your credit card or get a bank loan so you can own the latest uber tech-head scope. I know it may not be  pretty but there are not many web sites or societies who hold beauty contest for scopes.

And a final note to all tech heads out there Dont scare off beginners and keep your advice simple.
