Reviews of Girl by the Sea

Wow, though a little bit of this will be lost on anyone who has not been to Porthcawl, it should bring a smile to the face of those who have. Where else would all this be possible? After 10 years they still haven't rebuilt that flaming old model village(well, last I heard anyway), and after reading this I'm strangely glad!! Anyway, absolutely brilliant poem full of marvellous images. Well done, more please!!

I loved all Ed's poems, though this one perhaps the most. I wish I could write 'proper' poetry but unfortunately all I've ever been able to manage is prose which of course doesn't have to rhyme. Hats off to you Ed, I hope we're lucky enough to see more poetry from you soon.

So the girl was a fish? Do fish play golf?

I am so not used to reviewing work but I do know that poetry has got to be the hardest work of all! I loved this poem. It was simple yet easy to read. I have been unable to write poetry that rhymes so have had to stick to prose also. But this gives me the incentive to try.

I liked "Girl by the Sea" because of its' whimsical ending. All through the poem, I was led to believe this was some average girl, until the last line. Then, I was left hanging! Was she a mermaid? Thank you!
