Arthurlie's interest in the West Of Scotland Cup ended after defeat at the hands of fierce rivals Pollok in an entertaining game at Newlandsfield Park. Arthurlie had missed three good chances before the home side took the lead in the 20th minute when Ritchie Newall looped a header over debutant Peter Shaw. The scores were level just after half time when John Bradford headed home Alan McFaddens super cross and the game looked to have swung Arthurlie's way when 'loks Alan Waddell was sent off for abusive lanuage on the hour mark. However it was Pollok who took control of the game and the 10 men scored two quickfire breakaway goals from Zander Ryan and Bryan Dingwall.
