Arthurlie 3 Beith 1
West Of Scotland Super League, Premier Division
Saturday 1st March 2008
Dunterlie Park, Barrhead

A precious three points for Arthurlie with goals from Lee Sharp and a John Bradford double doing the damage. A rare sight at Dunterlie when Arthurlie took the lead early on through Lee Sharp scoring direct from a corner but Beith leveled matters when Craig Palmer was played in by Kenny McLean and he smashed the ball past James Evans.
Arthurlie dominated possession in the second half but rarely threatened the visiting keeper until the game turned on an injury to ex 'Lie star Steven Convery. The striker had just came on as a sub when he was played through on goal but he caught his studs on the turf as he prepared to shoot and early reports suggest he has broken his ankle. With all three subs used Beith were down to 10 men and Arthurlie took full advantage when sub John Bradford headed home Lee Sharps corner and the striker then added another late on.

Best wishes to Stevie Convery and hopefully the injury is not as bad as first feared.
