Arthurlie 2 Bellshill 2
West Of Scotland Super League, Premier Division
Saturday 15th March 2008
Dunterlie Park, Barrhead

Bellshill opened the scoring on 23 minutes when Stuart Boyd was first to react to a deflected clearance and he smashed the ball past James Evans. The lead lasted just one minute as Arthurlie won a free kick and John Johnston's shot deceived Scott McNab in the visiting goal. Right on half time Bellshill took the lead for the second time when Stuart Boyd went on an unchallenged run towards the box and as defenders closed in he tried his luck from 22 yards and his shot beat James Evans.

Craig Baxter was replaced at the interval after picking up an injury and further woe followed for the 'lie when Martin Hughes went in for a 50-50 in the Bellshill box with ex 'lie midfielder Barry Nicholls, the Arthurlie No 8 came off worst and was stretchered off with what later turned out to be a double leg break. Arthurlie kept going and they leveled the game with 15 minutes remaining when Lee Sharp fired an unstoppable right foot shot from 25 yards that beat the keeper all ends up. There looked only one winner now but despite loads of pressure the home side just couldn't find the killer touch and as the game headed deep into injury time Bellshill almost snatched all three points but Stuart Boyd was denied his hat trick when his close range header was superbly tipped over by James Evans.
