Maryhill 1 Arthurlie 2 Super League Premier Division Saturday 16th Sep 2006

Arthurlie came from a goal down to win all three points thanks to quality goals from Joe Andrew and John Bradford.

A poor playing surface had the 'lie struggling early on in this match and Maryhill took advantage with an Alex Smith strike giving them an early lead. Hill could have extended their lead but a super save from James Evans kept them out before Arthurlie drew level right on the half time whistle. Alan McFadden won the ball on the left wing and his low cross was expertly clipped past former 'lie keeper Montgomery by Joe Andrew.

Maryhill were boosted on 65 minutes when Dave Williams was shown a straight red card for a foul on Thomson, it looked a harsh decision and it seemed to galvanize the ten men who went on to win it with a goal with 15 minutes remaining from John Bradford. The big striker won a free kick on the left wing and Andy McFarlane's pin point cross picked him out at the back post and he bulleted a header past the keeper.

Despite the home side desperately trying to get level it was Arthurlie who looked more likely to score and Bradford hit the post with minutes remaining.
