Kilsyth 2 Arthurlie 2 Superleague Premier Div Sat 29th Oct 2005

Two points dropped for the 'lie as they came back from an early 1-0 deficit to lead 2-1 at the interval thanks to goals form Alan Waddell and Charlie Hobbs. Slack marking early in the second half saw a hard working Kilsyth team level matters to remain the only unbeaten team in the division.

The home side took the lead when a cross was whipped in from the left and it evaded a ruck of players before finding Tam McLaughlin in acres of space at the back post and he drilled a low shot past Robertson. Arthurlie responded immediately when Chris Kerr swung in a free kick that was headed back across the keeper by Marc McShane, the ball beat the keeper and looked net bound but Charlie Hobbs made sure by knocking home from 2 yards. Kilsyth should have regained the lead when another great cross, this time from the right had the visiting defence posted missing but the on rushing McStay blasted over from 8 yards. Arthurlie were dominating but there was a scare when Martin McGarvey was felled by a late tackle and needed lengthy treatment but he was able to continue and he felt a lot better on the half hour when Alan Waddell raced onto a hopeful through ball and the striker took his time before picking his spot to give his side the lead.

We were only 10 minutes into the second half when we had 60 seconds of tremendous action at both ends of the pitch. Charlie Hobbs latched onto a McGarvey pass and raced past the last defender before unleashing a stinging half volley that beat the keeper all ends up but crashed off the bar and out to safety. With Arthurlie players still cursing their luck, Kilsyth broke up field and a cross from the left saw Barry Williamson lose his marker at the front post and his fine glancing header gave Robertson no chance and we were all square again.

Martin McGarvey limped off to be replaced by Stevie Convery and Frank Lynch called on Derek Rhodden to repeat his trick from last week with a late goal. Deeko almost came up trumps when he had a chance in the final minute but he rushed his shot and blasted wide.
