1874.....The club
is founded and the name is taken from the village Arthurs meadow which
was one of many that joined together to become Barrhead. They are one
of the oldest clubs in Scottish football, and are one of only 5 teams
still playing who took part in that seasons Scottish cup. The others are
Queens Park, Rangers, Dumbarton and Kilmarnock
The first Arthurlie team is listed as KELLY, PINKERTON, MCPHAIL, MCPHIE,
ROSS, FARQHAR, MILLER, DUFFIES, MARTIN, YOUNG, WATSON who played in a
2-0 defeat by Dumbarton at Boghead, 17th Oct 1874
80/81.....Renfrewshire cup winners, beat St Mirren 3-1 in final
1885......Moved to Dovecothall ground, first game 3rd Nov. A 2-0
win against Woodvale.
1890......Profesionalism is legalised, Arthurlie are unable to
gain entry into Scottish League so they helped set up the Scottish Federation.
1891/92.They win the title by 4 points from Albion Rovers.
1896/97.Arthurlie knock CELTIC out of the Scottish cup after a
4-2 first round win, the team IS listed as AIRSTON, SMITH, HIRST, MILLAR,
TENNANT, BODYS, HANNIGAN, TAIT, OVENS, SPEIRS, MCGREGOR
1897/98.Celtic take revenge by beating Arthurlie 7-0 in the Scottish
cup.
1901/02.Joined Scottish league Div. 2.
1906/07.Highest ever league placing, joint 2nd with Vale of Leven.
1921.....Present ground, Dunterlie park, opened 22nd Aug.
1927.....Arthurlie's Owen McNally jointly holds the record
for the most goals scored by one player in a Scottish league match, eight
goals while playing against Armadale 0n Oct 1st. The other player
who achieved this feat? Celtics Jimmy McGrory (Celtic v Dunfermline
Jan 4th 1928).
1929.....Resigned from Scottish league and joined amateur league.
1931...The junior era begins.
1937......Arthurlie win the Scottish junior cup for the first time
with a 5-1 win against Rob Roy at Celtic Park 22nd May, ATT 23,000. Team:
BROWN, HAMILTON, HIGGINS, BINGHAM, GAIT, ELLIOTT, PATERSON, ANDERSON,
MC HARG, ALSTON, SIM. Won western Div. by 3 points from Renfrew. Won Central
league decider 1-0 against Shawfield.
1961/62...Arthurlie 10 - Neilston 1, Sept 1961.
1971......Club Arthurlie opened by James McGuire, cost £36,400.
1975..... West of Scotland cup winners.
1977... ..West of Scotland cup winners.
1978......League cup winners.
1981......Scottish cup runners up to Pollok 0-1.
1985/86..Fergus Ferguson becomes manager, Jim McQuade coach.
1986/87..Won central league Div. 1, Tom Brown league cup, Central
Drybrough cup and evening times cup winners cup.
1987/88...Central league Premier Div. winners.
1988/89...Central league Premier Div. winners.
1990/91...Signed James Grady from Eadie star, Grady went on to
Clydebank, Dundee and is currently playing in the Scottish First Division
with Ayr United.
1993/94...Central league Premier Div. winners..
1996/97..West of Scotland cup winners beat Irvine Meadow 5-0 in final
..CPS league cup winners beat Pollok 2-1 aet.
1997/98..Jim McQuade becomes manager. Scottish

2005/06 Club docked 12 points by the West Region for
failing to comply with an investigation into an alleged assault on a referee
at Beechwood Park, Auchinleck. Club is also fined £3000 and midfielder
Mark Ross is banned for 5 years.
2005/06 Frank Lynch and his backroom team resign, Gary
Faulds takes over the football team with Stevie Moore his assistant
2007/08 Gary Faulds and Stevie Moore resign in December
2007 after Arthurlie slip to 10th in the table.
2007/08 Mark Cameron is appointed manager of the football
team with former player Roland Fabiani his assistant.

Jimmy McQuade and Sammy Johnston join the backroom team, Sectional
League Cup winners
2009/10 Arthurlie make history and become the first club
ever to retain the sectional
league cup with a 1-0 victory over Shotts Bon Acccord.
