Hay fever is a type of allergic rhinitis which occurs seasonally, usually in spring and summer, when the pollen count is high. Symptoms include a blocked, runny or itchy nose; watering, itchy and red eyes; frequent sneezing; a tickly or sore throat; headache and tiredness. Rhinitis triggers include mould
spores, animal hair, house dust and mites: hay fever is usually caused by pollen
from trees, grasses and plants. Breathing
in any of these may cause an allergic reaction, prompting the body to produce
histamine, which causes inflammation, increased mucus and congestion. Traditional Chinese Medicine
usually treats hay fever by a combination of acupuncture and Chinese herbs.
The programme, ideally begun before the onset of the pollen season, is
formulated specifically for each patient. Special
Hay Fever Package Price: £139 Includes 3 sessions (once a week)
