People behind the scenes.

Chairman / Under 15 Manager........ Andrew Eastwood. 

Andrew comes from a football mad family and as a boy went down to Meadow Lane to watch Notts County. (in the Jimmy Sirrel era) Andrew played football for his school as well as the scouts and his claim to fame was being watched and noted by the ex  Leeds united footballer Terry Yoarth. He has been involved with youth football since 1994 with his son and not one to stand on the side line, soon got involved as team secretary and club press officer for Hucknall Rolls Royce. In 1997 Andrews daughter shown an interest and began to enjoy playing football, the time was now right to get involved and help form Linby Colliery Welfare Ladies Football Club. In 1999 Andrew completed his FA Junior Team Managers award, first aid and Child protection certificates. Season 2000/01 he took on the role of managing the under 17s in the Notts Youth League who went on to win the league sportsmanship award. In September 2001 Andrew was awarded the Nottinghamshire and Regional F.A Charter Standard football coach of the year. Season 2001/2 he managed Linby's under 10's who made history by being awarded the most sporting points ever in the history of the Y.E.L and the team were presented with the Supreme Sportsmanship award. Season 2002/3 he managed the under 10's and completed his level 1 coaching certificate and won the active sports overall achievement award for 2003. Season 2003/04 Andrew managed the under 11's who finished a creditable 3rd and semi-finalists of the cup as well as winning both the Cotgrave and Ashfield tournaments, he also passed his level 2 coaching certificate and coached at the Mansfield player development center. Season 2004 - 05 Andrew managed Linby's under 12's who finished a creditable 4th and also won the Cotgrave tournament. In 2005 Andrew was awarded with the Nottinghamshire FA Charter Standard Coach of the year award and is currently coaching at the Chesterfield Center of Excellence. Andrew coached the clubs U13's for season 2005 - 06 who finished a creditable 4th in their league and winning for the third time the Cotgrave tournament. Andrew looks forward to managing the under 14's for Season 2006 - 07.


Treasurer......... Janice Whitaker.

Janice's has been a keen supporter of  the club for a number of years and. joined the clubs committee in 2003 as the club treasurer. Season 2006 - 07 Janice continues to do a great job and remains as the club treasurer.


Club Secretary/U9 Manager ......... Carol Eastwood.

 Carol was involved at Hucknall Rolls with helping to organise fund raising events as well as assisting with the running of the tea rooms. In 1996 she was awarded along with her husband the club persons of the year award. Carol moved across to join Linby in 1997 and soon set up and ran the Linby tea-rooms as well as being involved with the every day running of the club. In 1999 she took on the role of Club secretary and is keeping a close eye on the organisation and running of the club. Carol has been busy through the close season and has become the clubs child protection officer and after completing her JTM took on the role of under 10s manager for season 2000/01. In season 2002/03 she took a season out from management and completed her level 1 coaching certificate. Season 2003/04 Carol coached Linbys youngsters the under 9's. Season 2004 - 05 Carol managed and coached the clubs first Under 9's team. Carol in 2005 was nominated for an FA Workforce award and also coaches at the Chesterfield Centre of Excellence. Carol managed the under 9's in season 2005 - 06 who went onto make club history by wining the league double. Season 2006 - 07 Carol will manage the clubs new under 9's.


Social Secretary....... Kathy Wilkins.

Kathy has taken on the role of club social secretary for season 2006 - 07 which entails organising social events and fund raising for the club. Kathy has a daughter who plays for the under 13's.


Club Development...... Alison Clarke.

Alison's daughter currently plays for Linby's under 13's. Alison took up the post of club development officer for season 2006 - 07 to help the Club push forward with their ambitious plans of which include improving the facilities at Church lane. Alison is responsible for the Club and ground development. 


Media -Co-Ordinator...... Anne Fanous.

Anne who has a daughters who has played for the club for the last 6 season's took on the role of producing the club's monthly newsletter and we are delighted that she will continue for season 2006 - 07.


Administration Assistance.... Alison Husselbee, Leah Clarke.

Alison has been around the club for a while as her daughter currently plays for the Under 15s. From 2002 - 05 Alison took on the role of Club social secretary and was responsible for organising many of the clubs social events. Leah who is the under 14,s team secretary also has a daughter who plays for the team. Season 2006 - 07 both Alison and Leah  have taken on an admin role's for the club, which include taking a register and collecting subs on a training night at both venues.


Child Protection Officer..... Bev Hunka.

Bev has two daughter's who have played for the club for a number of season's. Bev has attended the F.A Child Protection course and will see that things are done correctly by allowing children to enjoy the game without abuse of any kind, which includes bullying, physical, emotional, sexual abuse and neglect. Bev is responsible for the awareness of child protection and best practice's at the club.


U9  Manager.... Carol Eastwood.

See above. 


U10 Manager.... Paul Evans.

Paul assisted Carol in Season 2005 - 06 with the successful under 9's. Paul successfully completed his Level 1 coaching award in October 2005, he is looking forward to managing the clubs under 10's for the new season as the girl's have achieved success this summer with three tournaments entered resulting in two wins and a runner’s up spot. Paul is also over seeing the clubs Saturday morning soccer school giving young girls their first taste of football within a fun and friendly atmosphere. Paul is an enthusiastic member of staff and is looking forward to furthering his coaching qualifications.


U10 Assistant Manager.... Lee Denny.

Lee who has a daughter who plays for the clubs under 10's, He completed his level one and is looking forward to assisting Paul with the talented under 10's for season 2006 - 07.


U11 Joint Manager..... Colin Brooks.

Colin joint managed the under 9's with Carol in season 2004 - 05 and went onto manage the club's Under 10's for season 2005 - 06. Colin is a level 1 coach and is also on the clubs executive committee and looks forward to managing the under 11's in season 2006 - 07 as the team have played 5 pre season tournaments and never finished less than semi finalists whilst being champions in two of them


U11 Joint Manager..... John Betteridge. 

Both of John's daughters play for the club and he was happy to get involved and help Colin with the Under 10's for season 2005 / 06. John was awarded with his Level 1 coaching badge in October 2005 and looks forward to co-managing the clubs under 11's for season 2006 - 07 as well as furthering his coaching qualifications.




U13 Yellow Head Coach.... Martin Whitley.

Martin who is involved in coaching a boys team will bring along new ideas to take this talented girl's team to another level. Martin is currently studying for his level 2 coaching badge.


U13 Blue Manager.... Alastair Eggleshaw.

Alastair was assistant manager for the under 10's in 2003 - 04. He completed his level 1 and took on the role of team manager of the under 11's for season 2004-05. He took the team up to under 12's assisted by Dave Underwood and finished a creditable 3rd spot. Alastair will manage the under 13's Blue for season 2006 - 07 who play 11 aside football for the first time.


U13 Blue Assistant Manager.... Craig Appleby

With the team stepping up to play 11 aside football and with the resignation of Dave Underwood an assistant manager was required, Craig eagerly accepted the role to assist Alastair with the team for the new season 2006 - 07. 


U14 Manager.... Andrew Eastwood

See above. 


U14 Assistant Manager.... Graham Crump. 

Graham who has both a son and daughter who play youth football has been a supporter of the club by refereeing a number of games last season. Graham is looking forward to taking his level 1 coaching award and assisting Andrew with the talented under 14's for season 2006 - 07.







Goalkeeper Coach and Senior Blue Assistant Manager .... Steve Allcock.

Steve's daughter plays where else but in goal for the club's senior team, . Steve has a number of years experince in goalkeeper coaching and he is responsible for coaching all Linby goalkeepers, he successfully completed his Level 1 coaching badge in October 2005. Steve will assist Gary with the senior team for season 2006 - 07.


Executive Committee

For Season 2006 - 07 an executive committee was formed to take on the responsibility and decision making on major club issues, one of which is the responsibility of improving the facilities at Church Lane (new changing rooms, club house etc) The committee consists of: Andrew Eastwood, Janice Whitaker, Carol Eastwood, Alison Clarke, Gary Randle, Colin Brooks and Karen Walker.
