Season 2003 - 2004
F.A.
Charter Standard Community Club.
Linby in
partnership with F.C Interski and Mansfield Town Ladies were awarded with the
Charter Standard Community Club award.

Linby Ladies have been busy in the close
season, with recruiting new players for the forth coming season ahead, and
raising the awareness of girl's football. At the Ashfield show in Sutton the
club performed in the blistering heat two half hour demonstration sessions as
well as finding the time to pose for a photo to show of their most recent award
of Charter Standard Community Club. The award was presented at the interval of
the Women's Community shield game at Field Mill, Mansfield, between Doncaster
Belles and Fulham. The girl's from the club provided the half time entertainment
by demonstrating their skills and various warm-up drills. One luck Linby player,
8 year old Hazel Bowen was selected as the Doncaster Belles mascot and proudly
led the teams onto the pitch. The last few months have been a real roller
coaster ride for Linby as they have picked up award after award with recognition
coming from the Football Association. Linby have won both Nottinghamshire and
the Regional Charter Standard Development Club of the year for 2003. The
Community Club award is fantastic as the club now have the partnerships in place
to offer anyone in the community the chance to play competitive football. The
association with Mansfield Town Ladies is great news as Linby's older player's will now have an exit route into playing Women's football at the
highest level. Linby are to show their association to Mansfield Town by all
teams from their Under 9's to Under 15's playing next season in the
Mansfield Town football kit.
Best Season so far!
Linbys annual presentation was a
sell out as the club celebrated its most successful season so far both on and
off the field. The evening held at the Hucknall Community Centre, reflected on a
campaign in which all LInby teams finished in the top half of their leagues. The
under 13s were league champions by an impressive 12 points while the Under 15's
were runners up after being pipped to the title by one point. Linby also won the
regional charter standard development club of the year award and became a FA
Community club. Chairman Andrew Eastwood described the season as a remarkable
dream season and thanked everyone who played a part and worked so hard. Guest of

Linbys
Under 13s win the Broxtowe Tournament.
Linbys
Under 13s made a late decision to enter the Broxtowe Football Tournament in
conjunction with Priory Celtic Football Club. The Under 13's were unstoppable
with Hannah Berrill scoring a hat-trick in one of the games. The girls went on
to win the tournament, adding even more silverware to the clubs trophy cabinet
The French
Connection

Linby for the first time organised a
mini overseas football tour. On arrival at Bully Le Mines in Northern France
they had a training session before the evening meal at their hotel. The next
morning a visit to an open market saw the girls shop for England (it was their
parents money and they were not taking any of it back) In the afternoon the
girls visited Hennin Beaumont for a number of friendly games. The Under 11s were
up first and equipped themselves well and were comfortable 5 - 0 winners thanks
to goals from player of the match Bethany Wilcockson. The Under 12s / U13s met
tougher opposition in a close end to end game with neither team finding the back
of the net, Linbys player of the match went to Charlotte Husselbee. The U15s did
not disgrace themselves as they had their work cut out against Frances division
champions, player of the match went to defender Emma Hunka. That evening the
girls celebrated back at the hotel by dancing the night away. The next morning
on the way back a few hours were spent playing football at Calais beach. The
girls were impeccably behaved both off and on the pitch and won many praises
from not only their managers and coaches but from the hotel and the coach
company and of course their new found friends at Hennin Beaumont.
Deserved silverware for Linbys Under 10's
and 11's at the Cotgrave Football Tournament

Jubilant Linby Ladies under 11's wrapped up their season by
winning some deserved silverware in a five a-side tournament at Cotgrave. Having
finished a creditable third in their league and reaching the semi-finals of the
cup competition, Linby outclassed thier opposition scoring 23 goals and
conceding only one. Wins included a sweet 2-0 success over league champions
Radcliffe, plus 8-0 and 5-0 maulings of Bingham and Beeston Town respectively.
The final against Radcliffe went to extra time but Linby won with the golden
goal, scored by Rachel Murray, who converted a free-kick from the edge of the

penalties. The picture above shows both the under 10s and 11s.
