mission (THE WHY)

This is a project that is fundamentaly about learning the internet and web design. I plan to continualy add new elements to the site as I pick up new skills which will be diplayed with a running commentrary for my own benifit as much as anyone elses. Any related sites I visit will also be credited with links provided as both a personnal record and a tutorial. The main emphasis for the site has changed slightley from a gallery showing only my work to a windows painting competition.

THE HOW

To start with I tried using word to get my page started but It was difficult to get the results from my mind onto page reality. I quickley realised from browsing the web typing things like, 'how to design web pages,' that the thing to learn was HTML, or hyper-text markup language. If you go to your browser, select tools, and then source, you should get a window with the code for this page, or whatever page you have open. Dont be put off, its easier than it looks. Next you need a tutorial; the first site I found which lead onto everything else was, HOW TO LEARN HTML. It's a plainly laid out introduction and has great links included in the text at the bottom.

THE WHAT

The content of anything you see on this site will all be my own unless otherwise stated. The paintings so far have all been done in windows 98 paint, as have any logos/graphics and such like. For a good tutorial in using paint to make logos which could be extented to customised link buttons click here.

I try and and add something to this site everyday, whether it be a painting or some other feature. A little often seems to be a good maxim that can be applied to learning or developing all sorts of new things.

THE WHERE

THE WHEN

I try to upgrade the site as much as possible, at least a painting a day. Its not always possible however, but here will be updates and new features continiously, so keep coming back to see.
