At the close of the outdoor season Marnell Bowls Club hosts a shortmat club which is open to all members. Our club nights are on a Monday and Wednesday evening and both evenings start at 7.00pm and finish at 9.00pm

Shortmat bowls is played on a mat 40'  (minimum) to 45' (maximum) in length and  has a block of wood in the middle of the  mat central to either end, if your  wood  hits this block of wood your wood is removed  from the mat!

 Shortmat is a great game of skill,  tactics and above all good fun.

 If you enjoy the more competitive side of shortmat bowls we play friendly's on the weekends and have  competitions throughout the Shortmat season, on a Thursday afternoon the club takes part in a league and plays  two triples teams, players of all levels are encouraged to play and support the club.
