Thomas Kingsmill and the Hawkhurst Gang
|
About DorsetSmugglers.co.uk Nearly 20 years ago I put together a small project concerning smuggling in East Dorset, and recently came across it again in a box in my attic. This is East Dorset as it is today, taking in Christchurch and Bournemouth, not the Dorset of the 17th and 18th Centuries when when they were still part of Hampshire. Although I am not a historian, or even claim to have any skill in this area, I decided to "publish" this work to a website in the hope that it may be of use to somebody out there. This site is still under construction, but I get little time. In the future I hope to:
Do you have information that others may be interested in? If you have any stories or research that is relevant to smuggling in East Dorset (perhaps you have smugglers in your family history and wish to relate their story?), please email them to me so they can be added to the site. There's a link at the top of this page with contact information. Want to ask a question or seek help? Please use the forum (there's a link at the top of this page) to ask questions or seek help. I have very little time to be able to help in these matters, but other visitors to the site may be able to offer help. You can also use this forum to post interesting snippets of information.
