The Cambridge end of the West bank route. This interpretive board is positioned at the start of the tow path near the Pike and Eel pub. |
| Christopher Summerville walking correspondent for the Daily Telegraph and the BBC, standing on the tow path north of Cambridge. This section of the path runs beside the course for the 'Bumps' rowing races. Christopher has recently walked the route and is making a feature for Radio4 as well as an article for the Telegraph. | ![]() |

Waymarking at Bottisham lock. Steve Stevens is the association treasurer and loves nailing on Waymarks! |
| Sunset by Clayhithe...a wonderfully colourful sunset viewed from the Bridge. | ![]() |

The path beside the Cam washes. This is a very good spot for Bird watchers, in winter there are large flocks of wildfowl, in summer lots of breeding birds. The area is an SSSI. But after the wet weather we have had this year, it has been a job to keep the vegetation down, and this section can become a little overgrown very quickly. This is on the west bank just north of Waterbeach. |
| Another view of the Luxuriant vegetation on the west bank path. This is on the West Bank opposite upware. The county council makes regular cuts along this section during the spring and summer. | ![]() |

Fenland vegetation at Wicken. This must have been what all the fens were like before they were drained, and drainage came quite late to the inner most areas of the fens, but Wicken Fen is the last remaining area of land that has not been drained. The water is pumped in to keep it wet. The Fen is well worth a visit. |
| The Village green in Reach, on the Upware Circular. The ancient Devils Dike begins in the middle background of this picture. And the Village now has an excellent new pub...owned by the locals themselves. | ![]() |

In Downham Market...the guide book editors, Janet and Roger Moreton at the end of a surveying trip. This is the market square with the clock tower behind. |
| The delightful church at Wiggenhall St Germans sits just beside the path. | ![]() |

The wide open views just south of Kings Lynn. Watch out for seals in the river here....they can get well up stream in search of fish. |
| Almost at the northern end of the Fen Rivers Way the path crosses the sluice here. When we created the footpath, it was discovered that the right of way over the sluice seemed to be missing, so Norfolk County council had to create a new one. | ![]() |
