Well....
Well, its
been a fair while since I last updated this site and a lot has been happening
in the time that has past. Most of it was pretty straightforward
day to day occurrances and so I will not bore you with that stuff.
I am happy to announce that my work has been selected as the first to
be displayed at a new local artist display gallery which will be openning
in the New Year. I cannot really tell you much about the new venue as
the owners have asked me to keep it quite for another month and as of
this moment they still are deciding on its new name. Needless to say that
in this area and times of credit crunch a new opportunity like this for
local artists is enthusiastically welcomed.
More news concerning this new gallery will be posted at the first opportunity
on this website.
Yet again I have received my normal rejection letter for paintings I
have tried to get into the Three Counties Open Art Show at Keele University.
Its nothing new to be rejected at this venue as everytime I have attempted
to get work into this show it has been rejected. What is annoying about
it is that this show is right on my doorstep (less than 2miles away) and
its the only show I have never been able to get a painting
into. Oh well, maybe one of these years it will happen.
Three new galleries have been added to the places where my work can now
be seen on show and I have been fortunate enough to be offered permanent
wall spave at two of them. The three galleries are :
- The Black Wall Gallery in Newcastle upon Tyme
- The Lakes Gallery in Cumbria (Lake District)
- The Roches Gallery in West Yorkshire.
I am in talks right now with another British Charity concerning the possibility
of offering them a few paintings for their upcoming Charity Art Auction.
I have already taken part in two other auctions of this type with another
charity and the net result was that the three paintings I gave them for
the auctions added £1230.00 to their coffers.
Well thats it for the moment, I do hope that my updates will come thick
and fast in the future and not have such large time gaps between them.
