Morton Grange
Morton Grange was the first home of John Thomas Drakes (1851-1908) and Alice Martha Wildsmith (1852-1920), after their marriage in 1878, and was where their first child was born in 1879.
The above old photograph may be Morton Grange; it was found with family photographs belonging to Mrs Alice Martha Drakes.
John Thomas Drakes and Alice Martha Wildsmith with their daughters Eleanor Drakes (born 1879 at Morton Grange) and Annie Margaret Drakes (born 1883 at Thurlby Hall), their son Sidney Drakes (born 1885 at Thurlby Hall), and the children’s nanny; this was before the birth of their youngest son Frank Drakes in 1889. This appears to be them re-visiting Morton Grange about 1888, a few years after they had moved to Thurlby Hall, Thurlby, Lincolnshire.
