Swaps and Minis I have made

page 2

I made some wicker chairs for presents when I went to stay with friends in Australia, and as they were dog showing people I also made the dogs

to sit in them - all the 1.12th scale chairs are now on the other side of the world. My friend Chell also got one, we met up when I was down under

although we had previously only talked virtually as it were

books, bibles, mirrors, lockets, fans, bottles, postcards, letter bundles, photo bundles, lacy bits and fabrics, cards, newspapers, certificates, maps and music books

I had the opportunity to showcase miniatures through an event at work. I offered people who visited the chance to make a miniature memory trunk, and fill it with whatever took their fancy. It went down very well, everyone who made one were impressed with the results.

I dressed a 1.24th scale bed (we did a 1.24th scale swap on the greenleaf forum)

this is also 1,24th - a little Raggeddy Ann and Andy kiddies bed

1.24th scale modern bed with wicker headboard

candlewick style bedspread, again 1.24th

two candlewick bedspreads I made using bunka 1.12th

I bought this kit at Miniatura in September 2005, got it finished by January 2006. Its not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but I think I have done great. I love it and I have now bought some tiny metal furniture to go in it.

I created this scene when I was in stay at home club, I won my Laurel when I entered it in the Greenleaf forum Winter competition - if you click on the picture you will be able to see more shots

This is my very first completed carpet ( I like to start big) it measures approx 8in x 6in and is done on 18ct canvas and fringed with the help of mini4allers and minithreadworks peeps.

Watch this space for my next project a cushion on 48ct, talk about throwing myself in at the deep end !

I made this for a good friend from work, she was very poorly in hospital and rather than just send her a card I sent her this little comforting scene instead. There is a teacup and teapot on the drawers, with a juicy apple on a plate, some books next to the lamp, where there are also some pretty glass bottles, the pillow and shawls look cosy and inviting on the chair, with a footstool, where there is a yummy choccy bar waiting with magazines, all finished off with pretty vase of flowers

This was a minis4all swap. I swapped with Daffers who lives in the same county as me, so a new friend was found too. I made Daffers a 1/24th scale quilt, and I received a little baby, in the most exquisite knitted gown, even the tiny socks are knitted.

In a private swap, Daffers made me a couple of potted plants, and I made her a 1/24th scale piano for her cottage.

This is a smoked toddler dress I just felt like making

This is a little something I made for my mother on her birthday, as she shows and breeds Maltese. I made the chaise and the dog, and then draped a throw and cushion and added a Maltese magazine.

I made this little toy box filled with toys for a friends little girl when she turned 10

I bought this as a kit from Miniatura September 2004

Some more stuff I bought from Miniatura, the pony was 50p, due to a damaged leg, he now stands patiently outside Cobweb Cottage waiting for apples

I made this for Christine in return for some scraps of leather, which you don't want to see here !!

I made all these little books for Tiggys library, in return for one big book on dolls house soft furnishing

These are babies from Chell in Aussie - cute aren't they?

I made this 1/24th bedside rug and cushion for Daphne's cottage - hope she likes them, got a bigger rug planned for her. The cushion is petitpoint on 48ct silk gauze and the rug is 32ct canvas

A bathroom swap I made for a friend
