My paintings are a synthesis of
memories, reality and daydreams,
seeing, not seeing and seeing
beyond. Themes of interest
revolve around people, newspaper
clippings, the banal, the kitsch,
1970s/80s, family snapshots, local
architecture and old masterpieces.
I feel inspired to experiment on a
variety of scales with different
mediums and usually cultivate a
number of pieces simultaneously. I
this conducive for spontaneity and l
earning, with plenty of room for
reflection.
Many thoughts and feelings are
intrinsic to the creative process as
I use my hands, my heart and my
imagination to acquire knowledge,
enrich my perception and achieve a
sense of identity.
I have practised as a full time
professional artist since graduating
with a First Class BA Honours
degree and have sold my work both
locally and nationally.
