My Motorhome

I bought my recent home in November 1984 , it was in a bad state of repair, and I knew that a lot of hard work had to be done, but I felt it would be all worth it in the end.

We started to work on the house as soon as I had the keys for the property, knocking down all the ceilings and taken all the mortar off every wall in the house, It was dirty job, and bearing in mind it was only myself my daughter and her fiancé doing all this work.  It took 7 large skips and a number of lorry loads to clear all the rubbish. (We were also working at full time jobs.)
It was only then that I started to employ tradesmen to rewire the house, plaster the walls and artex the ceilings, as we ourselves put up all the ceilings.

We moved in on February 1985, myself and my daughter, after completing the two bedrooms
so we could live in one room and sleep in the other, while the rest of the house was being
refurbished.  Most of my furniture I stored at my Parents home, and used only the basics, this was to save any damage done while we were restoring the house, It took several months before it began to take shape, but at last the day arrived.

The day my furniture came up from my parents home, was a day to be remembered, as the transformation began to take place, the new carpets had been fitted the previous day, so it was hanging the curtains, pictures, arranging the furniture etc, then it was my HOME.
