The Happy Hiker - the purpose of the Happy Hiker website is to provide simple to follow directions for walking various routes, including GPS downloads and to give basic advice on a variety of walking issues. Most of the walks are in North and West Yorkshire, the Yorkshire Dales, the Lake District and the Peak District

Rawcliffe House Farm - Jan & Duncan Allsopp's country-style self-catering cottages and bed & breakfast rooms have been tastefully converted from the farm barns, retaining many of the original features of rustic beams and stonework. It's the ideal place to stay, especially if you wish to walk or ride to discover the wonderful surroundings in the heart of the North York Moors. I personally recommend it - it's where I stay myself to enjoy peace and tranquility.

Anne's Garden - 'Find what its like to garden on a hilltop on the coast of North Yorkshire...' Take a look at Anne Barton's site in my home village of Skelton with photographs of her favourite plants in her lovely garden and weather statistics throughout the year

Lakeland CAM - a site based in the Coniston/Langdale area of the Lake District - Tony Richard's superb photographs are updated almost daily with up to the minute information on the weather conditions in the area at the time

Mad About Mountains - Ann Bowker's excellent site with photographs and details of her many walks in the Lake District and Scotland and her travels to the mountains of the world

Coatham to Warrenby - a lovely nostalgic site, packed with old black & white photographs and stories to accompany them. Created by Sheila Barker, the site is part of the Communigate series. Sheila looks back to her childhood days in Coatham and Warrenby and there are many contributions from other ex-residents. There are also links to a couple more local Communigate sites for Grangetown and South Bank.

Cornwall CAM - Charles Winpenny's lovely photographs of the spectacular coastline and charming countryside of Cornwall with many other links to life and customs in Cornwall - the site also contains a particularly detailed weather data section

The Cleveland Way - the official site of this magnificent 110 mile walk on the North York Moors and North Yorkshire Coast - a must for anyone contemplating walking the trail with information on transport and accommodation as well as the walk itself

The North Yorkshire Moors Association - the charity aims 'to protect and enhance the characteristic beauty of the North Yorkshire Moors for present and future generations' and offers membership to those 'with a love of the North York Moors and Coast'

The North York Moors National Park - covering all aspects of the North York Moors and linked to other National Parks - 'working together to sustain the landscape and life of the North York Moors for both present and future generations to enjoy'

Railways Through Ingleby is a must for anyone with a nostalgic interest in the old railways of the area - an excellent Photo Gallery section takes us back to the 'good old days' of steam trains and local industry

Captain Cook Country - not just dedicated to the great man himself - enjoy the 'Cook Country Tour' or find places of interest, where to eat and drink, where to stay - the site is full of local information

daelnet - the first website dedicated to the Yorkshire Dales

The Nicholas Rhea Website - for all you fans of the popular TV series 'Heartbeat' set in the 1960's on the North York Moors - also details of the many other books written by Nicholas Rhea and a section dedicated to Yorkshire

Teesside1 - Paul Jameson's excellent site for anyone interested in the Teesside area - there's lots of useful local information and a gallery of photographs. Paul has also included many useful links covering a wide range of topics

Derbyshire CAM - Bryn Hughes brings you regularly updated and excellent photographs of the Derbyshire area

Bronte Country - an excellent site with lots of information about this beautiful area of West Yorkshire - lots of useful links and photographs

Swansea CAM - another member of the 'CAM Club' - Alex Thomas has some superb photographs and commentary from a beautiful part of South Wales - Max Everson's excellent site contains a wealth of local information for Guisborough and the surrounding district; places to stay, eat, drink, shopping, services, property, etc

Suffolk CAM - Ian Davey has also joined the 'CAM Club' - go to his site to see some delightful photographs of yet another part of our beautiful countryside

Images of Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire - John Beres' very impressive photographs of his local area

California Walking - have a look at Holly Brown-Williams lovely photographs of walks in California - her format is similar to the British 'CAM' sites. There's also an excellent 'diary' of Holly and her husband Bruce's experiences of Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk which they enjoyed in 1997.

Yorkshire Expats - a great site for Yorkshire 'ex-pats' all around the world - the 'Forum' section is full of interesting topics which you can join in and discuss the many aspects of Yorkshire life and folks - maybe you'll find old friends or family - well recommended and a must if you love Yorkshire

Muddy Bums - Tony Harker's website is a great for any mountain bikers wanting to find the best routes in North Yorkshire's moors and dales and also some in the Lake District.
