Hob Cross is situated a few yards from the isolated path between Guisborough Moor and The Quakers' Causeway which traverses Stanghow Moor. Hob Cross is a boundary stone with the intials RC (Robert Chaloner) and the date 1798 inscribed. On a clear day there are splendid views north from the cross towards Teesside and the North Sea.
